My passion is to help the ones who are hurting and grieving heal in a healthy manner AND help the ones who are companioning the mourners by educating them about what the mourner is going through with love and compassion.
Our society and culture for the most part are taught not to talk about death and dying and not to face the pain and practice healthy grieving and mourning. It’s too uncomfortable to see their pain. We don’t know what to say or what to do to fix it, so often times, we choose to look away and force the mourner to ‘get over it’.
I take the time to teach the mourner how to process their grief as well as how do deal with an ignorant society. I take the time to reach out to our communities and teach the people it’s okay, even necessary, for the mourner to feel the pain and how they can rise above their own uncomfortableness and help the mourner. With more compassion and sensitivity, awareness leads to a stronger, healthier society. It’s a win/win.
